Africa day 6 - To our amazement Erv has made a miraculous recovery and traveled with us today. Our guide gave us a surprise adventure to the western Serengeti with a sunrise departure. On our way our Land Rover was rockin' as we learned the Swahili song Jambo Tanzania. Then we taught Reggie (Regginator) Hava Nigala as we danced in a circle around the Jeep while the Hyenas were laughing like crazy. The first stop was a hippo pool with over two hundred cuddling, snorting, and yes Alice they were. Two hours later we were privileged to experience the migration of at least 10,000 confused wildebeests with zebras and baboons in the mix. Next onto a pride of lions where the mom lion tried to feed her young with a passing zebra. The zebra took a sharp left and escaped with his life. Mom lion went back to sleep. Because of an obstructed view of the wildebeests crossing, our guide allowed us to leave the vehicle, which is never done. We crouched down on the river bank to watch the crossing up close and personal. Our day also included a picnic basket breakfast beside a hippo pool with additional sightings of giraffes, warthogs, deer, and hyenas. Inspite of the fact that Harvey is our resident photographer the pictures posted are Diana's. Onto another adventure tomorow...

Diana, that first picture looks like a painting...kudos to you! Going forward you will be named the "Adorable Anselette".....are you singing Kumbaya around a camp fire ever? Did Reggie learn this guide career on his own or did his mother tell him there is money in it???
Today, I too, saw wild life in the form of fahkocktah slimy gaggles of geese at the Passaic County Golf Course and it only cost me $12! The pictures are being developed as I type....time to go wash off the bird bacteria...Ta Ta over there...Shalom and much wheat grass to you! Jackie, are you alive and well???? Sandy have you used up your coupons, cans of tuna and bags of pretzels that your packed???

After reading Alice's comments there is really not much more one can say - she left me speechless. I too think the first shot looks like a painting - a photo of a painting - if not Diana you should be the resident photographer. I must say it sounds like you are not for want of seeing animals - we baby sat Knox this weekend - does that count for seeing an animal? We have bats and bees - so they count?? We also have incredibly hot weather!!!! The trip sounds spectacular - Jackie and Sue good luck with the tires - not my cup of tea!!!!!! It seems you have taken my advice and no one is laughing or having a good time!! Make sure Reggie stays in business long enough for the rest of us to get there! Say hello to all your buddies - hope Erv is recovering from being speared - at least he got something. Looking forward to the next installment.

i completely agree with alice and wendy-- the first thing i thought when i saw the pictures was that the first one looks like a painting! all the pictures are amazing!
